A Jumble Sale will take place in Chailey Parish Hall, starting at 11.00am on Saturday 17th February. It is to raise funds for an International Guide Trip (see below). Jumble can be brought to the Hall on the morning from 9.00am onwards or brought to Rainbow and Brownie meetings in the next couple of weeks. Some adults to help at the jumble with sorting and selling and making teas would be appreciated: please come forward if you are willing to help (contact details are below). Rainbows and Brownies are welcome too, but will need to have an adult with them.
Before Christmas, two Lewes Windmill District Guides, Lexi Rea and Fliss Stewart, attended a County international Selection day and were really pleased to be asked to join the County International trip to Switzerland in October this year. Lexi was a Rainbow and Brownie at Newick and Fliss a Rainbow and Brownie at Chailey, and both now help at those units.
To be able to take part in the trip the girls have to raise £950 each. They have already held a cake sale at Fletching School and at the Sussex Ornithological Society conference, and helped to prepare the lunch for the conference. Other fund raising planned includes a disco and an activity day for the Brownies and Rainbows at Picketts Wood (more details to follow). The Rainbow and Brownie Christmas party made a small profit and this will be donated to the girls as they both ran activities on the day (other girls have been supported in this way in previous years).
